Random bsod's during movies/gaming

Hey everyone, i been getting bsod's for along time..for awhile i was getting some that was narrowed down to my Gcard, i replaced that..and im getting win32.sys event 41 bsod's...all events are from Kernal-power..i want to get to the bottom of my final problem..i ran memtest and my ram/motherboard came back clean..new Gcard is perfect..old one was crashing me from overheating..

Usual causes: System service, Device driver, graphics driver, memory

So I may suggest you two things here ....

1. Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

BTw, I am seeing that you have this program installed.

Start Menu\Programs\McAfee Security Scan Plus

As you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you dont need another one, and two antivirus programs always cause conflict.

Uninstall it using McAfee uninstaller.

Let us know the results.

i uninstalled the AVG/Mcafee SSP.......the driver verifier i dont know how to use...dont know how to backup stuff eaither..
if i could get some info on that, that would be awesome too..

ok, ran memtest for over 8 hours, 6 pass's..0 error's

ok, ran driver verifier, crashed everytime it tried to reboot

Boot into safe mode, disable verifier.

Now, boot normally, run verifier exactly as stated in Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable .
Make it sure that you haven't checked any microsoft's driver there.
It should work.

had to do a system restore to get back on it, love windows 7 for the system restore points

i made sure no microsoft drivers were selected

to me it seemed as if it worked, it booted up, and gave me blue screens..?

ok, i turned it back on, same thing..crashs everytime..usbfilter.sys was the main one that poped...rest of time it did not specifiy a driver type...want a new SF_diagnosis uploaded? had to go into safemode to shut it off...(verifier) that is..and i made sure i only had non-microsfot corp stuff checked

Not necessarily.

Sometimes you may need to force the computer to crash with DV enabled, by performing the most crash prone operations in your system, say game play, video streaming, etc.... as the case may be.

But sometimes it crashes on itself.

It totally depends on the nature of the driver, how frequently the system uses it.

Say it is the webcam driver, so it will not crash until you are using the cam.

for right now i'll just do things as normal, maybe my orginal bsod's were caused just from that Mcafee?
i also went and removed some other problematic programs, like virtual clone drive

Update it from AMD Support & Drivers.

About removal of virtual clone drive, well done. Remove McAfee too, if is also a problematic one.

how do i figure out to update my motherboard/chipset drivers? what AMD series am i using? im using a AMD phenom(tm)2 x4 840 processor with the Nvidia Gforce GTX 660 superclocked

Have you uninstall McAfee?
And, do you still have Alcohol installed? You should remove that one, too!

Yes i reuninstalled macafee security, swore i did already but was there haha..and alchol120 i dont see on my computer..i see the installer
