Random BSOD's: Error 0x0000004E

Hello everyone,

I've been recently getting a lot of random BSOD's lately and it has started to get really frustrating because I'm not entirely sure what is causing it. I usually get them randomly when my computer is idle, playing games, or even when I am shutting down the computer. Attached is my SF Diagnostic Tool folder. I'm not sure if the folder will tell you already but here are my computer specs. Hope we can find a way to resolve this issue. Thank you for your time.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

At the same time, I would suggest you to uninstll the following programs.

• Start Menu\Programs\Bitdefender 2013; Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
  Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.
• Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite
• Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\AutoGreen
• Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6; Run in, set everything to default and then uninstall it.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hello Arc,

I have removed the programs listed, installed Microsoft security essentials and even reformatted my computer and the problem still occurs. Here are my subsequent crash dumps for them. Hope we can find the culprit :x

Lots of stop 0x4E crashes, but none of them shows a possible cause.

Usual causes: Device driver, memory

In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight, per RAM module per slot.

So I enabled driver verifier and I had a bsod once or twice. So I proceeded to do a memtest like you suggested. I ran it for ~12 hours and it did 11 test and they found no problem. So far I haven't gotten a bsod so lets hope for the best. I also want to note that I also decided to just go back to my overclocked settings since it still occurred just as often at stock. Put my cpu from 3.5 to ~3.9 and 8gb of ram from 1333mHz to 1600mHz.

I reformatted once more doing a complete clean install (wiping both my ssd and hdd, rather than ssd only) and problem still occurred (error 4e). Here is a new dump zip and I also ran memtest86+ and got one error which will be in the link below. Hopefully it is the only source of problem or that is the cause. If not then I'll probably try taking one of my ram sticks out and seeing if it is my ram that is having problems.

The link results 404 for me. Anyway, if you have got an error during memtest, and crashes are still occurring after a clean install, you need to replace the RAM module.
