For the past few days, beginning while I was out of the country and hadn't touched my computer for a couple of weeks, I started getting random BSODs linked to asmtxhci.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. Today, after installing VirtualCloneDrive, I got one linked to ElbyCDIO.sys. BSOD results attached.

An important thing, configure Ccleaner to NOT clean the event logs & dump files, both are very important.

I would recommend to remove all software from IObit to prevent anymore problems.
It is also adviced to remove Daemon tools, it is known for being a pain regarding stability.

An update for your BIOS would be helpful

Where did you get your ASMedia USB drivers? The onces from ASUS are years older

Not sure where ASMedia drivers came from, but possibly from a card with USB 3 ports? Why do you ask? Is there something you found that causes you to suggest removing all IOBit software, because this has been running seemingly without problems for many months.

The drivers ASUS provides are ~5 years older, that is why I asked.

IObit software is known for causing trouble, they provide a driver update program but driver update programs are very bad in general. I've used some of the other programs myself when I was dumb enough to believe it, I'm still regretting it because it caused data loss to my laptop. I had to clean install the system.

I think I may have found the problem. I installed ASUS PC Diagnostics and when I started USB test I immediately got BSOD with the suspect ASMedia driver apparently the problem. I stumbled across this information - Windows 8.1 and the ASMedia USB 3.1 XHCI 1.1 Host Controller | Plugable - and installed the older version of the driver it suggested. Then ran USB test again and no problem.

I would normally suggest to stay with the drivers provided by the mainboad manufacturer, because they are usually the most optimal for the system.

Is it only the Driver IOBit software that you recommend uninstalling, or also the Advanced System Care software as well?

I would suggest to remove all IObit software, but at least recommended to remove those 2 you mention.
