Hi,

I brought a Packard Bell dotMRU (11.6" net/notebook) a month ago from Currys. I have been getting a blue screen restart almost everyday since I brought the computer- event ID41 to be exact. It happens when the machine is in standby or when it is on at totally random times. I have attached the dmp file as I have no idea how to open it. Can someone please help me, as I have exams this week and the last thing I want is an unreliable machine which is my primary source of information... I knew I shouldve just stuck with my trusty M90 and used this money for actual books!!!!

This one was by usb8023x.sys. I suspect you have an eternal USB device whose driver has become corrupted. It you do not then you need to update the USB drivers in win 7

let us know if you need help with that

the only devices I have connected to usb are a wired usb mouse & a smartphone...

how do I update the usb drivers? I have tried updating via device manager, but it states everything is up to date

I am relieved to hear its not a hardware malfunction, as I would be really screwed then- this machine has no dvd drive to install windows from scratch!

hi, i have attached all the dmp files. Are they all caused by this driver malfunction?

I have been using the usb mouse for a year, with my old machine and there was never a problem... if I remove the phone and just use mains power to charge it, should the bsods stop?
