Random BSOD's - Please Assist

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64-Bit Installation
- the original installed OS on the system? Upgrade from Vista 64bit
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail
- OEM = came pre-installed on system ?
- Full Retail = MSDN

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 1.5 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 1 Month, Although same issue occured when having Vista 64 bit installed.

Issue Description:

More often than not the issues occur when playing graphically demanding game or running high cpu requirement applications (such as Adobe CS5). On a number of occasions my Intel Rapid Storage technology indicated there is an issue on my Raid 0. One of the disks has failed, but when performing memory diagnostics it doesnt come back with results that would indicate a failure. The status of the disk will be returned to normal and things run smooth for a short while, untill the next BSOD.

This is the first time Im actively posting on this forum, although I have read previous responses, I am unsure whether I supplied all the information required.

You stated that the memory test wouldn't show issues with your RAID. This is correct, a memory diagnostic does not have anything to do with the hard drive's health.
The free hard drive diagnostics here will tell you about your drives: HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link).
I presume that your system passed the memory diagnostic without any problems. Is this correct?

The 3 memory dumps all have different errors - so this is most likely a hardware problem. Please run the hard drive diagnostic and let us know the results. Depending on the make of the hard drive and the make of the motherboard/RAID controller, the hard drive test may not work from a bootable CD. If this is the case, try one of the Windows diagnostics from the manufacturer's website. If it still doesn't work, please post back and we'll try some other things.

Hi Usama,

Thank you for your speedy response, really appreciate the support you are giving me with my issue.

Right, so I've ran memory diagnostics both in OS and pre-boot diagnostics. The diagnostics test that I completed was from the manufacturers website (DELL) and I have also run the repair utility of the OS installation CD. All of the results came back with no negative results.

The application that I mentioned before, showing my raid and its status is the Intel Rapid Storage Technology which indicates when an error has occured on my RAID 0.

I have two HD's from Western Digital (WDC WD 6400AAKS-75A7B2) with current firmware 01.03B01.

I am at a loss on what to do as I know there is something wrong with my system as it keeps telling me to backup the data, but apart from the odd stuttering and random BSOD's there is no other indication that points me to the exact problem.

Once I get paid I am looking to replace faulty hardware if need be and update some of my components so I can hopefully eliminate the issue at hand. Is there anything else I can do to identify the exact issue ?

I don't have much faith in the Dell diagnostics.

The Western Digital diagnostics don't work well from a boot disk, but go ahead and try them anyway.
If that doesn't work, then try the bootable Seagate Seatools.
If that doesn't work, then try the Windows version of the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics
If that doesn't work, then try the HDTune freeware diagnostic.

FWIW - I gave up on RAID recently because of the problems that I had with determining which drive was good and which was bad.
