Hi all,

I'm writing here because of a problem with my pc, random BSODs occurring more often since the last couple of months.

I've attached the dump files and the report as requested in the instructions.
here are the details of the last one:
problem signature:
event name: BlueScreen
PS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
ID local settings: 1040

more info:
BCCode: 100000b8
BCP1: FFFFFA8003D05B60
BCP2: FFFFFA8004382B60
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

This is a screen I've captured:

ef14b8724e.jpg

My PC details:
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Full retail, not the
original installed OS on the system
- Hardware age: 2 or 3 years, have to check bills

- OS installation age: less than 1 year

Hardware spec:
- CPU Intel core 2 duo e8500
- Motherboarb: asus p5q deluxe
- ram Corsair Dominator 2x2048 8500C5D
- vga xfxgeforce 260 black edition
- hdd samsung 1TB 7200 rpm sata-II
- psu enermax 550W

all temperatures were ok when blue screens occurred, I use Everest to monitor the system.

A similar problem happens also when using certain games: the pc freezes, screen and sound snookered so I have to manually reboot.
when rebooting, I get a beep error code: 1 long and 3 short: as guides online and the manual of the mainboard says it should be an error in the system memory.
though I've tried more than once testing with memtest and other stress tests for the gpu and cpu, I didn't find anything wrong.

this happens with Crysis 2, Call of juarez the Cartel and others.
also here all temps., memory usage etc. were normal.

I hope to find a solution here with your help, this is kinda an annoying trouble as you can guess...

thanks in advance!
danyy

Hi.

Update or uninstall Acronis True Image Snapshot Manager driver
also included in Seagate DiscWizard

Backup software for data backup and disaster recovery in Windows and Linux - Acronis

Update Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7). Also a part of the Asus PCProbe and AISuite Utilities

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download

Update Asus PCProbe Utility

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download

Finish with the above steps and post back.

Thanks for the reply,

I've updated Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility and one other LAN driver using DriverScanner, but I had to use the safe mode of Windows; when on normal mode I had a BSOD as soon as DriverScanner was creating and checking a restore point before updating one of those 2 driver...

I don't have PCProbe installed.
To update or remove Acronis True Image Snapshot Manager driver, do I have to update or uninstall the whole Acronis True Image?
I have 2011 release of it, and DriverScanner didn't find any driver out of date for it.

Yes remove the Aconis software and the Driver scanner, driver updaters should never be used on Windows7 as the can cause a lot of issues.

Got a new, worse, problem...
After doing what reported above, I've used the pc for a while and then shut down. Now I start it again and I get a new blue screen just when windows is booting. In both normal and safe mode.
Error code is 0x0000007B, as you can see from the linked videoclip.

Writing from phone now, if you think there are dump files and are useful I can manage to search them.

This may be caused by a defect in one of your hardware. This cannot be solved by software.
Run a RAM Test

Is it possible to be an HDD problem?
I've tried using Ubcd4win live cd but got the same error when loading, and the HDD utility check test included into the cd found some errors on C drive...
Is there an utility to check HDD status?

anyway I'll run memtest86+ later today too

*EDIT*
0x0000007B fixed.
Used win7 repair discs, restored a previous system state, despite from the cd I only got errors of procedures failed...

Then, re-updated ATK0110 ACPI. I hope everything is fixed now -.-
I think driverscanner had messed up something with SATA drivers when updating them.
