Random BSODs

Hi all, my problem first started when I was playing WoW 3 days back and since then it has happened again and again. Some of the troubleshoots I tried include doing Windows Memory Diagnostics which reported no issues, and rolling back of video card drivers, to no avail.

I am currently on driver verifier and these are some of the mini dump files I have. Anyone please help?>.<
By the way the common ones I got are bccode 109 and c1 so far, and some of the bsod errors I see are dxgmms1.sys and SPECIAL_POOL_MEMORY_CORRUPTION.

Usual causes:  Device driver, Memory

A driver has written to an invalid section of special pool memory.

Install Service Pack 1:

Install and perform full scans with:

Hi bluerobot! I just got a damn bad case of bsod loops and almost could not start up my system for like 3 hours... hopefully the mini dumps can show you something!

There seems to be quite a few things pointing to either virus infection, hard-drive corruption or outdated SATA and/or chipset drivers.

Hi xbluerobot, I was having no issues thus far with my com, but when I decided to go and test out playing wow again (which was what initial caused the BSOD), having updated my nvidia driver to 306.97 which was said to be the most stable, and installed a few addons for the game, it BSODed twice=( below is the sf file...

What could be the problem now? Is it still the nvidia drivers?

Usual causes:  System service, Device driver, graphics driver, memory

memory_corruption doesn't necessary mean that a RAM module is faulty, it can also point to a object which corrupted the RAM at the time of the crash, for instance a corrupted driver or program. Paging files and the CPU caches can also be causes.

1. Download Driver
2. Start rb: Type: Device Manager
3. Expand Display Adapters
4. Right-Click Driver Name, Uninstall
5. Reboot
6. Run Driver Sweeper
7. Reboot
8. Install Downloaded Driver

Driver Sweeper will scan for any left over files from the old driver, old driver files can cause conflicts with new driver installations. Create a System Restore point beforehand, in case any problems or issues arise.

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:

• SSD firmware
• BIOS Version
• Chipset Drivers
• Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
• If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.
