Random BSoD's

So a few months ago my laptop froze up and I had to hard reboot it and upon booting after it POST'd it came up saying no bootable device detected, so I turned it off then back on and it worked. I then begun troubleshooting it, I ran some diagnostics for the main components (i.e ram, hard drive) as well as system file check but everything came back clear. Just to give you some insight on how my laptop is used, I only shutdown/restart it every 3 days, usually I just put it in sleep mode inbetween but I've noticed that upon waking up or being on for sometime it will freeze up usually while watching a video or just after watching one usually while I am navigating system files/applications.

But I have noticed a lot of event logs with source as: amdkmdag and task category as: DVD_OV and under "General" tab it only shows "UVD Information" which seems directly related to the freezing since event logs are spammed with a lot of them just moments before it freezes. When it freezes, that's it. Nothing can be done, it wont reboot itself. I have read around a bit and found that by disabling AMD's error reporting it can supposedly remedy the issue but I rather not do that if there is a more legitimate fix that will deal with the issue completely rather than using a bandaid fix.

I'll post a screenshot showing some info that might be of help, this is my first real BSoD but for some reason I think there's a more underlying problem. That other BSoD in the list was just a graphic driver crash ( I was on BF3 Alpha testing, so was no surprise graphic drivers crashed).

If there's any more information I can provide to help assist identifying the problem, do tell me.

Upload your MSINFO32.nfo file, as the attached one is corrupt.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
That file is must to see to provide you the solution. The issue is determined. And no driver update is available for Acer 5552G. So we have to get those from other trustworthy places.

Export a text version? Same as above, just do File> Export in step 3.

Unfortunately I will be online again after a long time. It is almost 1 AM at my timezone and a hard day is waiting.

What you have to do is to update the drivers to Atheros WiFi and the AMD GPU. I wanted to see that file to obtain the info about the hardware parts, so that the matching drivers can be obtained.

Well thanks for your time. I just realised even for me when I try to open the saved file it says the same.

Here's the txt file.
