Hi,

Last week i had a bsod which is not usual but i thought ok it might be an occasional one.
Then today i had several BSOD, first they occured while monitor was on sleep but the last one happened during playing a game. So i assume they are random.

I added the .dmp file, don't know if i had to add anything else or check something before posting here.

Would be glad if you could guide me to resolve my issue.

Hello, kardanadam and welcome to the forums. Please run the BSOD Posting instructions http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html I also need your system specs. This will help you.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html.

It is difficult to determine the problem with one memory dump. Please make sure your computer is configured for Small Memory dumps, this will tell you how. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html Please see Option 2 #2

Which is your AMD Graphics driver. When we get your system specs we will know better how to advise you.

Also, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Hello,

Thanks for the instructions. I've filled my specs as much as i can.

I ran a scan as you said. After doing 3 times, it still says" Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but unable to fix some of them".
Also, i configured my pc for small memory dumps as explained at the link.

So, maybe i need to try updating my graphic card driver. Or should i wait till i get another BSOD?

You do need to update your Graphics card driver. I am going to give you some suggestions to help you. Please install only what you have to. The Graphics driver is all you really need.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver. This is your current Graphics Driver

Code:

    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

Also, please go to Windows Update, click on installed updates and search for KB3022345 and KB3068708/ If you have them, please uninstall them. This will tell you how http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/24373-windows-update-uninstall-update.html. After that watch the new updates and when it tries to install them again, right click the update before it installs and select hide.

After you have rebooted a couple of times, please run the sfc scan again.

Downloaded your first link but according the software i have already the latest driver. So i didn't download or uninstall any driver.

Next, uninstalled the windows updates you mentioned. Restarted PC 2 times, and then went for scan. This time it says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." This means my problem is resolved?

Well, it means at least one problem solved. We will just have to wait and see if everything is running right now.

After more than a month, BSODs started again yesterday. First it was while I was watching stream and browser(chrome) crashed, then after a while BSOD happened. Now it occurs even when starting my PC, and I have often browser crashes.

Also last time I disabled Windows to go to sleep as I had noticed BSODs occured when it sleeps.

I have added Log Collector's file.

Thank you

Please Uninstall Dameon tools.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

Yes, there were a couple of files missing that could help. Where I said the image, it was referring to the picture just above. When you run the file I linked to, it will ask you if you want to install or uninstall. You want to uninstall, but if the uninstall button is greyed out, it means it is already gone. So, just close it and you are finished. Did I make that clear to you? if not, just ask, I don't mind at all. Just don't install the SPTD. That is what we are trying to get rid of.

I think I have all the files this time, thanks. I am noticing a lot of errors reported by Steam Web Helper and some of your games too. But the one that is most concerning to me is this dump from today.

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck A, {28, 2, 0, fffff80002d0f930}
[COLOR=red]Probably caused by : memory_corruption[/COLOR] ( nt!MiFindNodeOrParent+0 )
Followup: MachineOwner

That is a problem for me as well as you. If you have memory errors, not of the dump files are reliable. If a memory error occurs, whatever driver or application is running will be blamed, when the real problem is memory. So, we need to check that to make sure.

Please Run Memtest86+

picture.php

   Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes run at in the same session or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

I ran the memtest, it seems that there are errors. This means that I have to change rams?

To do it correctly, you need to run each ram stick in each slot one at a time. The reason is that it could be bad ram, and probably is, or it could be bad Dimm Slots on the Motherboard. A bad stick of ram will show errors in every slot, as a good stick will show no errors in any slot. So if, for example, you have a stick of ram that passes in slots 1,2 and 4 but shows errors in slot 3, odds are that Dimm Slot 3 is bad. The object of Memtest86+ is to test the ram and the Dimm Slots.

Kingston, I believe gives a lifetime warranty on their ram. The downside is you will be without a computer while the process is completed. You can usually do an advanced RMA with them, where they send you the replacement ram first, then you send in the failing ram. You just have to give them a credit card in case you don't send it back. Also, be sure to replace both sticks and get a kit in return. A kit is tested to work well together where individual sticks are not.

I have ran memtest, one ram everytime as you said. Starting with 8 passes, then 6 and lastly 2 passes; not a single error. I know I should do at least 8 passes each but time was limited and I noticed something else: CPU temperature was 90 degree.
That seemed high so I removed the cooler on the CPU to see what happened, actually thermal paste was all black. And after I put the cooler back in his place CPU temperature was 95.

Then I went buy some thermal paste, removed the old paste etc. To be honest I'am quite noob on these matters, even don't know if I placed the cooler as I should.

Right now, HWM diplays that CPU temperature starts at 65-70 and goes to 90-95 while I browse, watch video etc.

I suppose something is wrong, any advise would be helpful.

Thank you for the video, now It works much better: around 50 C. I will report what happens after heavy usage though.
