Could be memory corruption.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using ImgBurn. Boot from the CD, and run at least 5 passes.

Not quite sure, maybe different developers. I guess I just always linked to memtest86.

thanks again!
my ram tests ok. I updated my nvidia drivers to the newest ones and have not had a bsod yet.
Is anyone other than me disillusioned... with XP I had maybe 1 bsod per year, windows seven... at least a dozen times in 2 months....

That makes it sound like a driver issue. I guess Windows 7 is trying to use an incompatible or buggy/corrupted driver.

I did learn the difference between memtest.org and memtest86.com. Basically, memtest86.com stopped development, and memtest.org took over.

memtest.org is more up-to-date.

So I was very happy until today when I learned that those drivers were causing heat issues...
So I installed nvidia 195.62 today, so far so good...
dont know what else to do??

Eric
