Random freezes, even after complete reinstall

Hi all,
I recently bought a Medion notebook/laptop, specifically the Akoya P6512. It worked really well for around 3 months, and then began to randomly freeze, and take a good minute to unfreeze, at which point it would work for 10 seconds, then freeze again. The only way to stop it was to restart the laptop. It was completely random when it would freeze, it could be okay for an hour after starting, or begin freezing right from boot.
So, I decided that the best course of action would be to wipe the hard-drive and completely reinstall Windows 7. I did so, and the freezes continued to happen. Thinking there were possibly still some corrupt sectors (and the quick format done during install didn't catch them) I opened a command prompt using the install disc and did a CLEAN ALL, followed by creating a new partition and installing on that partition. And it STILL has the problem. Do you guys have any ideas? Any recommendations on what I can do to find out what's causing it? The laptop is still under warranty, but I'd rather fix it myself than send it off.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome

Here are my solutions to freezing, and an excellent article, which I hope is of some help
Go to search type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers
Download and run malwarebytes, a full scan after you update
Run antivirus scan
Check memory with memtest86
Make sure that you are not over heating.
Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Try a clean boot
Make sure PSU is working properly
If overclocking, restore to original
Test hard drive at company website.
Test in safe mode, does it still happen?
Try with clean boot..

Okay, now it won't even start properly. It just sits at the 'Starting Windows' screen. It asks to Startup Repair, then says it can't do anything for me. What has gone wrong with a completely fresh install of Windows 7 to make it do this?

Could it be a laptop / overheating problem instead of win7 ?

I am unable to boot into safe mode at all. Everything should be working properly since the laptop is 3 months old, and was working fine for the first three months.
DocBrown: It did this even when booting cold. I can assure you it is not the laptop overheating. It has been hotter than it is right now in the last 3 months and still ran fine.

Tried to run a chkdsk, and that appears to have frozen as well:

X:\windows\system32>chkdsk c: /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.

CHKDSK is verifying files <stage 1 of 5>...
2 percent complete. <13589 of 46080 file records processed>

And it's been like that for the last 10 minutes. Normal, or odd?

Okay, after nearly two days of CHKDSK running, it's finished. Replaced nearly 3MB of bad sectors and repaired a lot of other stuff too. On the reboot it's gone straight into Startup Repair again. *sigh*
Any suggestions?
EDIT: And now it's booted up properly. How random...

Nope - black screen on login, unable to boot explorer.exe, random freezes still remain. On attempt to reinstall get error code 0x8007045D with two separate DVDs, both burned at 2x speed. Starting to think about warranty-ing this computer.
