hello again everybody.

Ive been having this graphical problem ever since i upgraded to windows 7. At random times usually when under a state of graphical processing (closing/opening windows, moving windows clicking or hovering over the close/minimize/maximize buttons). sometimes they are small, and sometimes they cover the entire screen, making it difficult to see and click. Refreshing the page/window/program may get rid of them for the time, but they always come back.

i originally thought it was because i patched my theme files to use custom themes (using 'ux theme core'). but ive reinstalled windows and still i see these glitches.

I wonder if its the fact that my laptop has trouble running win7, because it was originally for vista. even though it passed the requirements.

my drivers are all up to date, and my computer is not even a year old.

can anyone shed some light on this?

Welcome to Seven Forums. I would suggest making sure I had the latest drivers for my chipset and video from Dells site if no 7 drivers are avalible use Vista in compatibility mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html. Also I would have run the Window Seven upgrade advisor first before installing the 64 bit version you might have been better off with the 32 bit. How many MB's of ram do you have? I would first try the frist 2 suggestions. than post back if your still experiencing the same problem. Thanks Fabe

hi fabe, thanks for the suggestions.

my computer was originally vista 64 bit, in which i had no graphical errors.

I did run the upgrade advisor with the installation back when it was installed, but new drivers have surfaced since then. Like i said, all my drivers are up to date. i have checked this numerous times, even with driver genius.

I have 6 gigs of ram, including a ready boost flash drive which is almost always inserted, adding another 13 gigs.

Im thinking all this is because of my weak, standard graphics card. but my processor is very good.. i dont know much about how they work together though.

aha! after a little bit of searching through the forums i found a solution. i actually needed to use a much earlier version of the driver, one for vista as it turns out. everything is working great, no glitches so far.

thanks for your consideration anyway fabe
