Random Keyboard glitches - acts as if holding ctrl.

Alright, so recently I upgraded my windows vista laptop to windows 7 ultimate. Everything ran smoothly, except for now when I type, it will randomly act as if I am holding ctrl for short bursts, opening new tabs, windows, closing the browser, opening the find window, bookmarks window, etc.

It never did this before I installed windows 7, and I checked to make sure my drivers are up to date, which they are. I've googled and tried many solutions, but none of them have worked. I am running windows 7 ultimate 34 bit on a Toshiba laptop, but that's all I really know. Please help?

Trying to isolate a keyboard issue can be difficult. Sometimes it's as simple as a piece of dirt lodging under a key. A can of compressed air could clear out any dirt in the keyboard.

Have you checked Device Manager to see if the keyboard is showing any errors? You could also use Device Manager to double check that you have the most recent driver. And another (sometimes) solution is to use Device Manager to uninstall the keyboard driver, reboot the computer, and let Windows 7 search for and install a new driver.

I know my response is a bit late, but yes I have made sure there is no errors in device manager, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the keyboard. I don't think it's a problem with dirt in the keyboard, since it happened IMMEDIATELY after I installed windows 7.
