Hi, I've started getting keyboard lag at seemingly random moments within Windows (on notepad for example) and within Firefox/IE. I'll be typing and then there'll be a big pause before the letters appear and then it'll start playing catch-up and it takes about two minutes to sort itself out again. Very annoying.

Not sure where to start with troubleshooting this, any ideas?

Hi keyboardface,

Are you sure this is KB lag or your PC hangs for a short interval? Check for CPU utilization in task manager when you KB lags and check if it is shooting up at that time or not. Scan the PC with antivirus, Malware bytes to check for any virus/malware attack. Run SFC /SCANNOW to scan the integrity of the system files.

Else, try to update the drivers for your KB.
BTW, which KB are you using?

Yeah it's only the keyboard. I know this because it happens sometimes when I'm playing games and I can still look around with the mouse and the game's still running fine but I'm unable to move until it catches up with itself.

I've scanned with MSE, Malwarebytes, Malwarebyes Anti-Rootkit, Roguekiller and AdwCleaner and all have came up clean. SFC also came back with zero integrity violations.

I'm using this keyboard: Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo MK520 -Logitech though I don't use the mouse that came with it. I've tried changing the batteries but the problem persists.

I've tried a few times to look at the performance tab on task manager after it happens and it doesn't show that it's shot up, maybe about a quarter of the way up the graph sometimes but I don't think it's related.

I've had the keyboard for a while now and the problem only started in the last month or so.
