Hi,

I've had this problem for about a year now, having tried most solutions on the internet. None of them seem to work thus far, however.

If I use any newer driver other than 260.99, my pc will randomly give blue screens. Either when my computer just booted up, or after a few hours.

I have a GTS 250.

Just some things I've tried so far:
TdrDelay tweak in registry.
Complete reinstall of Windows 7 with newest graphics drivers.
RAM checks

Using a two year old driver is not the end of the world, but it would be nice keeping my computer up to date.

Thanks in advance

Download and install the latedt drivers for nVidia .

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

I would suggest you to follow option 2. You may need to install latest version of Java during the process, and it will find the appropriate driver for your product.

Here is the dump file from my recent BSOD.

The dump says that the cause of the crash is DirectX Graphics Kernel ; which is obtained via windows update, a non - security update. [FONT=Segoe UI, Arial]

I used directx webinstaller to install everything and use bluescreenviewer to look at the new crash. It's the same as the last one unfortunately.

Best advice that I've seen about this error (from here: BSOD )
Quote:
If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating. Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU. Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference. If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling." - H2SO4
If all that doesn't work, then I'd have to suggest trying a new video card.
