Random PC crash, no BSOD dump

Hi There,

I have a fairly new PC (approx 12months old) and recently it has been crashing at random times of the day. There is nothing in common with each crash i.e. I am doing different tasks at different times. Basically the PC just turns off and starts booting all over again. There is no BSOD dumps to check and the only thing I see in the event logs before the crash is the Multimedia Class Scheduler Service entering the "stopped" state. This happens many times throughout the day so I am sceptical as to blaming the issue on this windows service.

My setup is as follows:

- Intel DQ67SW Motherboard
- Intel i5-2400 CPU
- 4GB RAM
- Windows 7 Pro SP1 32-bit fully patched

This problem occurred right after purchasing the PC and because i have a good relationship with my supplier, they swapped out the power supply and motherboard to be sure. The problem went away for about 12 months but has now returned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked for any over heating issues?

For monitoring the heat/celsius of the system, use Speccy or HWMonitor:

Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using CrystalDiskInfo:

Make a hard drive test from the hard drive manufacturers website:

Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

McAfee is a frequent cause of BSOD-s, consider uninstalling it with the McAfee Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.
Make scans with the following:

-Kaspersky TDSSKiller

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

-ESET online scanner

• Free Online Virus Scanner | ESET

Perform a System File Check to check the integrity of all protected Windows 7 :

1. Click on the start rb:
2. Type CMD on Search
3. Left click and Run as Administrator
4. Type

   SFC /scannow

Number down items at start-up. Keep only your anti-virus, this also improves the time for logging into windows.

Thanks for your replies and sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Windows was already configured to create a "small dump file", I have changed this to complete and will upload if i get anything next time.

I have checked the temps and all is ok. Ran sfc and detected no problems. Ran CHKDSK and encountered no errors. I have scanned the PC with multiple AV scanner including Malwarebytes, TDSSKiller and found nothing of interest.

I have downloaded SeaTools so will run that next time I am onsite. I will keep you posted.
