Hi guys,

Well recently my pc has been playing up. It get's to the loading windows screen... then it reboots.
At first i thought it might have been the new ATI CCC package (released recently) I installed so i rolled back the drivers... but still no good. That gave me an excuse to reformat.
Just to be sure i rebooted it a few times throughout the reinstall and left the GFX drivers/CCC(previous release that's been working fine) install til the end, with alot of system restore points inbetween.
Everything was good last night, but it rebooted again this morning. Upon reboot i F8 and ran last known good config and it started up fine.
I've attached the minidump... just wondering if one of u uber smart peoples can help me figure out what's up with it...

Hello Goomba81, Welcome to SF,

I guess the problem is with your Display driver ATI remove the drivers completely the download the latest driver from Manufactures website NOT from Windows update.

Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic

Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker
Start > Run > CMD >Right Click and Run as administrator >
SFC/ SCANNOW
Update the Following Drivers

well i ran the integrity test and HDD test. they're fine. i just read the mem diagnostic link and it seems that the win7 memdiag isn't recommended anymore? so i'll load up memtest and let it run overnight. will keep ya updated captain. and again thanks for the help.

just an update on the situation...
so before bed i thought i'd back everything up and have it all clean and ready for memtest... went n checked the memory timing tables for my ram...
that's when i noticed that for whatever reason my current timing and the bios version was different. zzzz... bios had reset to it's original version of F2. zzzz.... and that probably was because i was tinkering around with the OC features the other day... yes... the same day everything started to play up.
so i up'd the bios back to the latest version and readjusted the ram timing, there hasn't been a reboot/crash since.
i also tried memtest overnight to be sure and that came back all good..

captain u've been a great help... thanks buddy.

now.. to the meat of the problem~!
Can i really be bothered reimaging the machine back to the original image b4 all this.. or do i just keep it as this fresh clean install.. mmmmmm....

the end.

Well something similar is happening to me... Sometimes when I back to my PC it has restarted (?) and when showing some videos gives me a bluescreen related to atipmdag.sys (when Win7 drivers, not ATI -read the end to understand why and under what circunstances) .

Also, it doesn´t render well some areas (ramdomly) of the screen:

34fbjtz.png

I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2 with NO ccc (control panel) installed (only the drivers) and Win7 b7048 64bit with 4 Gb RAM

PD. If I install the Win7 drivers the screen bug solves but the "atipmdag.sys" appears.
I have thought it could be something related to the Win7 version is a beta (I´ll try to install a RTM in a week or so to see if it solves)
