Random reboots and freezes

I've been experiencing random reeboots and freezes over the last couple of months. I've attempted to uninstall various programs (Avast for example), update my GPU driver, remove useless junk from startup and done chkdsk, defrag and complete security scans with different programs with no luck so far. My gut feeling tells me its memory related but looking at the logs it might have something to do with my GPU... anyway I am no expert at debugging this sort of thing so some input from experienced people would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You have some older BSOD crash dumps of mid June. Those are indicating to a failing PCIe slot/device .... particularly the slot where the GPU is connected.

Your motherboard Asrock X58 Extreme has .....

  • - 3 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (blue @ x16 mode, orange @ x4 mode) (Double-wide slot spacing between each PCI-E slot)
  • - 2 x PCI Express x1 slots
  • - 2 x PCI slots
  • - Supports ATI™ CrossFireX™, 3-Way CrossFireX™ and Quad CrossFireX™
  • - Supports NVIDIA® SLI™ and Quad SLI™
So apply the GPU in another slot and see how things are going.

I moved the GPU to another PCI-E slot and also updated the firmware on my intel X25 SSD but unfortunately I am still getting the random crashes.

I see no pattern in what I am doing or the intervals between the crashes (sometimes it may run stable for an entire day).

Might this be the cause of the problem?

Might this be the cause of the problem?
No, that is not any problem there ....

You let us know how it is running with the GPU in the other slot. And, as you are posting here about your issue, leave the pattern thing alone. Just let us know about the issues.

Ok, I have been running the system with the GPU in another slot for a couple of days now and I am still experiencing the same behaviour with random freezes.

I'm attaching a new dump from the SF_Diagnostic_Tool

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
