Solved Random reboots, error reporting calls it BSOD, next gen hardware

Yeah, by default balanced puts standby as 30 minutes.

Yeah, I turned it off, and that took care of the inability to come back out of sleep/standby, but I still get these errors every once in a while, so it's just confusing as hell. Think I'll just let it be for a while until I can come up with something else or I have a failure that screams a cause.

Did it on both 760's and a 650. Tested single card at a time, tested in both available PCIe slots. One of the cards when in the bottom slot only booted once out of 7 tries.

I don't know which card required 7 attempts at booting, but that would make me suspect of that card. Was it one of the 760's?

A PCIe 3.0@X8 is the same as a PCIe 2.0 X16@x16 and it would make no difference to the card. It didn't make a difference to the other cards. Plus, as far as I am aware, a 760 cannot max out an X16 lane, so it should really make little difference. When you are running SLI, aren't you running X8 X8? If that is true, that is what it runs at anyway.

Okay. I'm back. Replaced a few other things too. Tried new RAM because I had access to a couple extra sticks from a friend. Still happened. Replaced the CPU since the place I bought it from said they had a batch of funky ones and wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause. Already replaced the motherboard. Bought a different SLI bridge because the cards seem to operate okay when not SLI'd.
(Although it was a bitch to get them to accept proper drivers when not SLI'd)
Still happening. I have video of what it usually does before it straight up crashes and reboots on me. This time it recovered twice before completely hanging...

Benchmark scores between cards NOT SLI and SLI with problems are nearly the same. Immediately after replacing the bridge, scores went up significantly. Now they're back down and problems are here.

I'll post the link to the video when it finished uploading (200+MB).

In the video, it really looked like a video card problem, but just curious. You made a point of showing the Razor drivers loading. That's when it began. I've never seen it before, but Several of the BSOD people have told me that Razor drivers can cause a lot of issues.

You've replaced almost everything, so It has to be software, I would think. Why not use something like Revo uninstaller and uninstall the Razor drivers, just as a test and see if that is not the problem.

Also, what kind of problem do you have installing drivers with only one card?

The razer thing is because I thought that was the bubble telling me about the video driver crashing and recovering. On a side note, I did find it odd that when I change SLI configuration in any way, it tells me to close a couple programs INCLUDING the Razer Synapse configuration thing. Granted, I can understand Chrome and other things, but my freaking keyboard?

Yea, I know. I have a Logitech one and I would feel the same way. But, I've been told by several people that the Razor drivers cause a lot of problems. But, I just thought you could uninstall them, just to see if that was causing a problem. Changing SLI bridges and performance increases almost tells me it is a card or pcie slot problem. If the bridges were good, it should make no difference. When you said you had problems installing drivers for the cards, was it a problem of it not recognizing the card? Or could it be a problem of leftover drivers? I always use this to reinstall drivers, it makes for a cleaner install. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html

Have you done the driver verifier already?

BTW, any time you get the message about video drivers crashing and recovered, you need to reboot to get them to install right.

I know we had a couple of false alarms on solved before, but I think it might be this time. I did remove the Razer Synapse software/drivers and I haven't had problems yet. I think I'm on third reboot... Turned SLI back on and things seem to be working. This is bullcrap. I used macros on the keyboard sometimes... Well, at least I know who to complain to now....

Just give it some more time and see. If it is fixed, maybe you can contact support about the issue and they will have an answer. But, if it continues stable without the Razor drivers, at least you will know what it is.

Just a suggestion. I have a Logitech G510, actually 2 of them, They have 18 programmable keys and 3 modes which means you could have 54 macros. I have no problem with the drivers either. Only a suggestion in case you can't get your Razor drivers to work right.

Sounds like a good suggestion on the keyboard, 'cept for the fact I'm still broke... but yeah, I'll keep using this for a bit to see if it's Razer at fault, then I'll bug them if it is... haha, see what I did there? Bug? hahaha.... ha.... okay I'm done...

It does it less now, but it did "driver recovered" me the other day. I walked away from a game and the displays went into inactive mode, when I came back to wake them up, it "recovered".

I think I'm going to try a clean Windows install, my pain in the ass networking reconfiguration be damned.

Also, last night while trying to play Borderlands, I did a reboot since it was acting funny, and both nVidia cards came up next boot as not enabled in device manager. Had to manually enable them and then reboot. Came back up fine a couple boots later, but still... dafuq? So yeah, I'm going for a clean install... any good suggestions on backing things up that I might either forget to back up or is a bitch to back up? I kinda wanna do this... right meow...

aaaaaannnd... clean install, during Windows benchmarks (experience score) driver crashed about 3 times. Failed to recover a little while later.

I am out of things to replace and even on a clean install it fails.

When you swapped to 1 card, how long did you run it that way? Also, when you say in your system specs, box cooler, are you saying the stock Intel cooler?

I still believe you have either a bad card or a bad PCIe slot.
