So, I have had this computer for about two weeks and it is consistently freezing and restarting. Have the latest bios for the mobo, driver for the video card, and ran memtest on the RAM which passed %100. Set everything on default settings and still the problem is there. There is no specific instance where it will restart but does it randomly. I could be playing a game, surfing the web, opening a document, doing all three, and even restarts after just restarting/logging into windows. System is not overclocked and temperatures are reasonable (although it seems a little higher than average).

Event ID: 35 is the most common one and I believe the most significant issue. Have no idea of what the problem is for this.

There are some other Event ID that are there that can be listed if needed.

Please help me fix this. It took me a while to put this computer together, not to mention the other frustrations and now this after putting good money into it.

I don't know what other information may be relevant so let me know and I will do the best I can.

I'll appreciate any help.

How 'bout a screenshot from the event log referring to the Event ID: 35

New build, how are your temps? Memtest passed 100% after how long? Have you tested with Prime95?

Just looking for more info...

Can't upload picture right now but here is the details.

Performance power management features on processor 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.
Performance power management features on processor 5 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.
Performance power management features on processor 3 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

Etc.

Temps are about High 30s to low 40s idle for each core. Was much lower after redoing thermal paste but I used Prime95 to stress it and now the idle is the same. Was Low 30s to mid 30s before prime. Artic Silver 5/Dark Knight.

All 6gb of RAM is recognized and seems to boot up okay. Have not had BSOD except on few unrelated occasions such as trying to reboot after the realtek update.

Fell asleep during memtest since I had a headache so I can't tell you when it finished.

That's pretty funny... :) :) :)

I know this is a stretch but just for ****z and giggles, go into cmos and disable hyperthreading, test, and post back please...

I will try it sometime but since the restarts are random, it is difficult to know if the problem is fixed unless I guess a few days passes. But wouldn't losing hyperthreading also be an issue it that is the problem?

Thanks for the help, btw.

My old computer was extremely old so I have never run into problems such as these. Makes me frustrated after dropping money for an X58 build :(

Looking at your event log post they point to firmware problems with processors 1, 3, 5... That's why I'm thinking hyper-threading and would like to test before reverting to the MB manufacturer...

Anyway, good luck with the problem and post back after you have a chance to test. There's a lot of good hardware guys here so someone will be able to help.

Regards-

Turned HT and still no luck.

Don't understand much about this problem and really need some help.

Event Error 35 seems to be the issue. It is with various processors not just 1 3 5.

If you want information posted let me know since I do not know what is relevant.
