Hello everyone,

I've recently decided to upgrade my machine with Solid State Driver (OCZ Vertex 2), new CPU -> Core2Quad Q6600 and DDR2 Memory 2x2GB Kingston Hyperx 1066Mhz. Before that my system was 100% stable.

I've installed Windows 7 64 bit.

While playing game computer rebooted for no reason, and after that it restarted while watching movie and again when browsing internet. Same thing occured when I've replaced new ram with an old one, and same restarts after installing new OS back on old hard drive and disabling SSD. So for the moment my best choice would be CPU.

Today I've installed Windows 7 again on the new SSD drive. Now, for the very first time I'm sometimes getting Blue Screens before restart.

The error message is:

BCCode: a
BCP1: FFFF824C039F5BD0
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF8000286D7FF
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

I've been also runing benchmarks, and Prime95 to stress CPU, playing some multimedia while doing this. System restarts after several minutes, max an hour. When I've looked in event viewer 80% of the time it's Kernel-Power with no error data with exceptions:

and

I've added minidumps, please help :(

most of the time, if you are only getting a random restart, there is probably a hardware issue usually power supply. If you are getting a BSOD prior to restart, I would check to see what is running in the background and start eliminating processes until you find the culprit of the BSOD, usually there is a file listed on the actual blue screen that is linked to the cause of it. Hope this helps.

The only software possibility I can spot is your old network adapter drivers:
Code:
yk62x64.sys Mon Feb 23 10:02:27 2009
Please update them, as they are pre-Windows 7.

Now I see an 0x124 BSOD, often hardware-related. This fits into the fact that it started after the RAM change.

Memory
4 X 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. memory capacity 8GB
· Supports Dual channel DDR2 800/667 un-buffered non-ECC memory
I don't think your new RAM qualifies. :(

You may double-check to make sure, but if you can get some new RAM that is compatible with your board, that would be great.

It looks like you have a hardware issue. Both dumps are hardware errors.

Error code 124, WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - usual causes are Hardware, Incompatibility, May be driver corruption

Error code A, WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

Please read this article on your bugcheck 124: [2-Int] Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try.

Download a copy of Memtest86
and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes. Here is a good thread on Memtest: Memtest86+ Guide/How To's - Overclockers Forums

Do a CPU stress test as well, using Prime95
.

Test your temps with Speedfan
.

Post back with your results and please feel free to ask any questions.

Edit: Jonathan posted while I was typing. Follow his suggestions.

I'd be more suspicious of the Power Supply, if you have another lying around you should try it, very simple. It's the most common culprit for restarts and shut downs.

I have performed memory tests (passed, no errors) and used other modules (800Mhz) aswell, but the problem was still there. Im going to replace PSU with a new one, and report back here with results.
