Razer Lycosa Keyboard has slowed computer dramatically

Hi all,

I bought the Razer Lycosa tonight and plugged it in looking forward to using it but upon loading the computer my bios has gone so slow i see each letter as if it's being typed out and cannot load windows.

I have plugged in another keyboard and managed to open my BIOS (blue menu bit).

I'm not technical really I just liked the look of the keyboard. I think it's a software related issue?

Above all I need my computer back working but has anyone come across this before?

I noticed I had some windows updates recently and also read a similar thread of which I can no longer find on this web site.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit home premium.

Can anyone help me anything will be much appreciated.

Does your computer boot right with another keyboard plugged in, instead of the Razor? If you would, would you please fill in you complete system specs. click the 'my ststem specs' at the bottom of your post and click update system specs. It would help to know what hardware you have. I might suggest you update your bios to the latest version also. A keyboard should not affect you bios or posting.

I have updated the best I can, I cannot remember the exact model of the motherboard but it's definitely an NVIDIA nforce N something.

I tried swapping the keyboard and it's still just as slow.

How do I go about updating the BIOS?

First, updating the bios wrong can bork the whole board. Second, you will have to go to the manufacturers website of the board you have, find your exact board and download the latest bios. There should be instructions there or in your manual (which you can download from there also) which will tell you how to update bios. The procedure is manufacturer specific. If you have not done so, there should be updated drivers for you board also. But, a keyboard should not do that to your computer. I just bought a Logitech G510, plugged it in and booted normally without installing any drivers. If updating drivers does not help, I would consider RMAing the keyboard.

Oh sorry, I meant I updated the system spec for you.

I'm not home for a few days but I will check out the manual and get the bios updated and then give you an updated.

Do you get the same message with another keyboard? The last line indicates a mempry problem. If you are having the same problems, I would start by running memtest86. Here is a tutorial about how to run the test.

Okay I downloaded it and installed it to a blank flash drive but I'm having trouble getting into CMOS setup to change the boot order for this to work, the system is to slow to recognise the key strokes maybe?

I will keep trying and let you know if I have any success.

Okay I am in the BIOS and I want to boot it from a USB.

I'm assuming it's under removable device in advanced BIOS features, it's set to boot from removable device first but the only option I have in there is floppy disk. I don't have a floppy disc, it was set that way as default and didn't run the program on the USB when I initially reset.

Am I doing something wrong?
