Solved 'rdyboost.sys' 0xc0000098 error

Hello,


I just got a friend's Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit) installed.

When I start the laptop, I get an error saying:

File: \Windows\System32\drivers\rdyboost.sys

Status: 0xc0000098

 "Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt"

It suggests me insert the Windows 7 installation device and repairing the system via it.
Which I already tried and the startup repair was unable to find any issues.


Anyone know how I can fix this without having to reinstall Windows?

Navigate to \Windows\System32\drivers directory and see if rdyboost.sys exists here.

Problem solved actually.
The file was present there but was maybe corrupted.

So I got the Windows 7 ISO, extracted the 'rdyboot.sys' file and replaced it with the corrupt one in my system.
