Hello,

Not at all sure that this is truly a W7 related problem, but thought I'd ask anyway.
Sure is weird, though.

Have never bothered with .wav files before, but tried to download a few of them that had some radio stuff recorded on them.

I started the download, then quit, as they said it needed another 30 minutes for the download.
I guess .wav files are, or can be, really big.

Anyway, a few of these files that I terminated (while the download was going) have left icons on the desktop. If I click on them, Windows says it cannot open them up.
Fine, no problem. I don't want them anymore.

So, I put them in the Recycle Bin, empty the Recycle bin.
The Trash is now empty, as one would expect. Nothing in it.

But, upon re-starting the PC the next time, they re-appear on the Desktop.

Not when the PC is first turned on and the Desktop appears, but when I click to open up Google/Firefox. Then they come back to the Desktop.
What's going on, please ?

Is there some program that continually is trying to download them
(even after a restart)? Doesn't appear likely, I think.

So, what's happening ?
How do I delete these icons (and I guess a small downloaded portion before I quit the download), for good ?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob
