Re-do cover selection on "Now Playing" background?

I have over 1500 album cover jpgs in my collection, but Media Center only chose around 25-30 of them for the "Now Playing" scrolling background. Each of those covers is repeated 7-8 times on the background screen at any given moment.

Is there any way to make Media Center choose a larger selection of covers so that there aren't as many repeats on the screen?

I am having a similar problem and have not found a solution. The Now Playing background will display cover art to music files that I have deleted. Any suggestions?
