Re-install of WLM not allowed?

Hi,

Because problems with WLM 2009 on my 32 bit W7 pro, XP virtual enabled Asus PC, I removed it hoping do a fresh install of WLM 2009. During the installation I got this pop-up that said "I already have this program"

What's going on here, as I have been installing & uninstalling Win programs for decades with no problem.

Microsoft/Windows probably doesn't want you to install that old WLM. (2009)

The way I would do it, is to first remove Window Live Essential's 2009, then install Windows Essential's 2012.

Got the same msg after downloading from Filehippo. Look like there is MS block on my registry as I originally installed WLM 2009 in summer 2012.

WLM 2009 worked fine almost like OE6 which used the K.I.S.S. and with over 20+ years of using it I never had any problems with it. Web mail won't work for my business & Outlook is too big & cumbersome. I have looked at others to no avail inc WLM 2012, too kludgy.

In an email client, I need:

1) spell chk,
2) import & export email addr & blocked senders. Then save them to a place in my secure whse for backup.
3) email addr selected from a drop down box, not my typing then matching,
4) ability to copy-past and image right into the body of the email, Ability to view email & images whether images were attached or copy-pasted image directly in the email body when rec'd.
5) attach a file (any type) when I am in my any one of the data warehouses (partitions or external HD) on my PC.
6) send a web link, etc to a colleague or client while doing research on the net.
7) pop3 & imap support.
Now I realize all my requirements won't be solved with one product, WLM 2009 solved most and OE6 w Spami solved them all.

Now that you guys know what I'm looking for in an email client. Any ideas.

You can try windows live essentials 2011(just install windows live mail)
You can get it here Download Windows Live Essentials 2011 from Official Microsoft Download Center

I have it on most of my machines because windows 2012 has a bug in it with sending group contacts

I didn't think WLM 9 would install.
Give 11 or 12 a shot.
I would start with WLM 11 and see how you like it. You could always update to WLM 12 later.

If you really want WLM 2009 you can get the offline installer from here http://g.live.com/1rewlive3/en/wlsetup-all.exe

It's about 134MB download. I use 2009 version of WLM because it's simple and works well, and none of the awful ribbon crap. I keep the offline installer on external drive cos I'm sure it will dissapear one day, microsoft don't seem to like people using older versions of anything.
