Re-install on partition

Hi all
Firstly my apologies if this question has been asked.
My PC has a 2 TB hard drive with 2 equal partitions, my question is can I move all my files I want to keep onto the second partition and re-install Windows 7 on the first partition leaving my files untouched?

Yes you can, but best to back up Data to a External HDD.
