We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

What is the Make & Model of your Notebook?

Run Dell Factory Recovery from its partition: Dell Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

Be sure to make the Recovery Disks first so you have another method to do Factory Recovery in case it fails when running from partition, which is the most stable method.

You will need to save anything you want to keep before running Recovery as it will wipe everything out and restore the computer to exactly as it was when it came from the factory.

Or find a Win7 installation DVD for your version to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker on bottom of laptop, following these steps to get a perfect clean reinstall:

It is less risky and simpler to simply drag your main named User account to the external, or the active User account sub-folders (Documents, Downloads, etc).
