Re-Install windows 7 boot manager

First post here, hi everyone!

So here's my problem.
Long story short: I had 1 installation of windows 7 on my hard drive, I shrank that partition with the disk partitioner in windows 7, and installed another windows 7 installation on the other partition (I wanted to make sure the new one was working correctly before removing my old one) Both of them work working and booting up, and I installed all my drivers and copied all my files over and everything, then deleted the first partition, and apparently the boot loader was on that one, so now I can't boot into the second one. When I turn on my computer it goes the the screen like I don't have a hard drive in or a blank hard drive.
I tried using the startup repair on the installation disk, and it didn't do anything.
I can access the drive from my ubuntu live cd if neccessary.

You may need to reinstall,

But try this:
1) Boot from DVD.
2) Press Shift+F10 (for command prompt)

Type in command line

bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /rebuildbcd

You need to install EasyBCD first, OP PC will not boot up.

Here's what I get when I try that.


Could I install EasyBCD from my ubuntu live cd?
Or, if reinstall windows to the partition that's empty now, would it detect the current one and add it to the boot manager? And then I could uninstall it the correct way?

You can reinstall to your empty partition,than
You need to copy boot files from new partition to your Win7 drive, before deleting the new partition.
Than do a startup repair.

Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD to mark Win7 partition active. At the same time you can Resize it to occupy the preferred lower address of the HD if you want. Apply all steps.

Now boot Win7 DVD REpair console or Repair CD, click through to Recovery Tools list and run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots as it will attempt to repair and finally rewrite the MBR to Win7 partition.

I just reinstalled, I figured it was faster than booting the cd a million times (it takes like 20-30 minutes per boot on my computer for some reason )
