Re-installed Windows7. Video card not detected :( geforce 560ti

Hello Everyone,

First of all I would like to introduce myself; I go by Paas, and I'm currently in Austria after being in Florida for 5 years.
I want to thank all of you in advance, for taking your time to help resolve my problem.

Yesterday I got a PC from a colleague once I started up the PC everything works fine, but since there was a lot of random programs on the pc, I decided to install my own version of Windows, Windows 7 Enterprise on it.

When the whole installation was finished the computer started, everything worked fine. BUT the PC did not recognize the Nvidea Geforce 560ti video card.
Since It worked fine before I re-installed windows, I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the cables, however I think it is a problem with the Bios configuration. (because that is what changes after a reboot right?)

So, I try to change the Bios confirguation to, booting both display PCU (i think) and PCI E, but this did not fix the problem.

My suggestions are; either to update the bios, but I'm not sure witch version I need.
Also, I could disable the onboard VGA standard 14mb videocard, but I did not try this because I'm afraid I will get a black screen, and I also read in different posts that the PC will automaticly re-install the standard VGA.

I have been lingering around sevenforums for a while, I have always found my solutions here, but this time I'm in really big sh*t.

I hope some of you know the solution.

To make things easier I will also post some information about my new PC.
1. Motherboard is from Foxconn, Its a FlamingBlade.
2. The CPU is Intel i7 ( i think.) dual core aswell.
3. Western Digital WD Blue 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
4. 550 Watt LC-Power Silent Giant-Green Power Edition Non-Modular 80+
5. Geforce GTX 560 ti oc 1gb ddr5 2xdvi mini-hmdi
6. Corsair DDR3 4GB PC 1333 CL9 KIT (2x2GB)
7. BENQ 2220 HD, 22“

At the moment I'm at work thats why I dont have Exact information regarding the Motherboard and the CPU. I will provide this information once I can.



Hopefully, you guys have all the info needed so, how can i get my computer to recogize the video card?:huh:

Well.. when you plug your monitor to the video card do you get any video signal? So you are getting a black screen and you only get video signal when you plug it into the motherboards VGA port, correct?
The bios does not necessarily disable the onboard video automatically. And it has to be disabled so the motherboard sends the video signal to the discrete GPU.

That's how it worked in my system, so you might want to wait for someone to confirm what I said, or correct me.

I THINK! since, I am not home right now, the monitor is plugged in to the video card, because i just plugged it in on the back of my PC case. The only way where it can be plugged in right?

anyway could you explain me how to disable the onboard video in the bios? maybe that will do?

Ah, I just realized you are using a foxconn flaming bridge.. I'm sorry, I have no knowledge whatsoever with those motherboards.. I doubt someone here owns one, and has lots of knowledge about it, all I know is that they do not have an onboard VGA video output, and from what I can say you -are- getting video signal from your GPU.

What does your computer recognize as it's GPU? I'm sure you just have not installed the drivers for it.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the PC did not recognize the video card.

If this is your motherboard: Foxconn PRODUCT : Motherboard : Details then it doesn't have on-board video so disabling in BIOS is not needed. Besides, if all you are getting is a blank screen, you can't access the BIOS anyway. Are you seeing a blank screen? If you are seeing the BIOS splash screen then it means the monitor and video card are working.

Do you mean that Windows only sees your video card as a generic VGA card? If so, you need to go to the GeForce website and download and install the Win 7 driver for your video card.

Hey Strolling,

When I use the pc, I do have a screen, everything works fine, i can use internet, skype.. etc. but the graphics are horrible. When i go to my drivers it shows that my graphic card is a: Standart VGA card, with 14mb memory. When i do the windows system test i get 1.0 out of 7.9 since its give a 1 to my (onboard) graphic card.

So, I guess since you are saying that it does not have an on board built in video card, I have to download the driver for my video card.
Here the problem starts. The driver won't install because it does not recognize a (geforce) video card. It only recogizes the standart vga...

I'm clueless

In the bios select PCI-E only as the video output method, and disable PCI, you said you have both enabled. Your card is connected into a PCI-E slot, not a standard PCI slot.
Also drivers pretty much install even if they do not recognize there is a GPU connected to the motherboard. Are you sure you got the correct drivers for your card type?

First of all to answer the questions what my computer recognizes as my GPU: Standart VGA Graphics Adapter.

I just changed the bios to select the PCI-E. I only could choose between Pci, and PCI-e, not to disable them, enable them or even as the only video output.

Other than that Am i currently downloading all windows updates, installing intel chipset driver, foxconn flamingblade motherboard driver and at last i will check the nvidea driver once again. Will report back within 20 minuts

Everything is fixed, just a simple case of not ALL driver being updated.. as I said, I updated all windows drivers, the intel drivers and at last the Nvidea driver.
