Hi Folks. It appears KIS13 (and maybe all KIS) is interfering with system restore. I installed some software earlier today that I had to then remove which I did without trouble but I thought I would do a system restore as I recently set up an instant restore point in the task manager. System restore failed to restore to this morning's boot-up and returned an error 0xc0000022. I see on the forum that this can be the result of anti-virus etc and I wondered if there was a fix?

Yes that could be the problem. I need to temporarily disable Norton tamper protection before I can do a successful System Restore. Don't know if there is a similar feature in KIS you may need to disable it completely.

I started with KIS because I needed as small a digital footprint as possible and it allowed me to turn off anything I didn't absolutely need. Now I run it almost entirely except for System Watcher which slows down shut-down dramatically. There is also Application Control which I am going to turn off too. Do we really need all this stuff?

It only needs to be off when you do the System Restore.
