Reading fan RPM's

Hey guys..

I was wondering if anyone knew what I should look for regarding molex connectors from hardware and on the motherboard to be able to view RPM's. I know a 3-pin molex will get you a fan reading, but where should it connect, and what if it's 4-pin?
The Rampage 2 Extreme supports reading fan RPM's throughout the whole computer and it's enabled in BIOS, but I think the guys who built this one perhaps messed up some connections.
I get alot of temp readings, but only the CPU fan gives me a fan reading..

You cant get a reading from a 4pin connection that's only a 12v, you need to have a 3pin plugged into the mobo from the fan and it read that info form the BIOS.

Ahh, okey.. Thanks Crispy :)
Does that mean any fans with only 2 wires are unable to read rpm?

From what I just read on Tomshardware it said 2 wires are for running the fan positive and negitive, the third wire reads the rpms. Fabe

As long as they can plug into the motherboard via a 3pin connection then yes.
