Okay so I bought the 30 dollar copy of professional 64 bitfrom Digital River. I was originally using windows vista 64 bit premium. I was told I can buy this and burn the ISO image so that I can perform a clean install and have professional.

Okay so no errors while installing until the last step. I let it restart for the last time and i get a black screen with nothing on it.. i can see my cursor but thats it. Or I get the occasional error saying i have to restart.

I can't go in safe mode, can't go on vista, my computer is wiped. what do i do?

Remove anything attached to video card besides primary monitor, while computer is off. Boot it up.

Otherwise, can you ctrl-alt-del?

How about Windows Key+P?

Please fill in your system specs if you need further help. They're necessary.

First thing that jumps out at me is your ram. Many people have had success installing by removing all ram except little as possible and then putting it back after Windows install is complete.

No. Only 512 MB is or so. Or 1 GB. It says you have 8 GB and that may or may not be causing an issue. There are plenty of instances where it has.

No, sorry. I don't have Skype.

Most of these errors are produced from a ISO that was burned at to fast of speed 2x to 4 x recommended, Also the ram suggestion has worked for numerous others. As well as installing with a minimum of peripherals

I have been using Windows 7 since its first beta. My machine is a notorious Sony notebook with 4M RAM. Sony is another arrogant company next to Apple. Their technical supports will always start saying "We at Sony do not support any software that we don't recommend to use ...." For example, they won't support my machine to downgrade from Vista to XP until almost a year later before they will release the XP drivers officially. I had to search the web for the OEM of the hardware to get the drivers.

With all that said, I found Windows 7 pretty smart and fast and easy to use in spite of little support from Sony. Initially I installed W7 with VMWare then I just took a leap of faith and installed as dual boot with my Windows XP. Early version of W7 didn't even work with my bluetooth mouse let alone all the built-in card readers or camera came with Sony. Gradually the hardware driver problems were solved one by one with each updated beta version. All it said was W7 had come a long way and I really don't think your problem is in W7. There was some pilot error somewhere along and/or the copy you got basically has some error somewhere or somehow.
I am not sure whether you can still download the Windows7.7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso dated 2009-07-13. That is the RTM (Release to manufacturing not RC, release candidate) version and you can install Home, Professional or Ultimate version from it.
My suggestion is just run down to a store buy a new hard drive or reformat any old hard drive and stick the Windows 7 disc into the CDROM and just do a new installation with your current Windows 7 disc you have on hand. If it does not give you a 30 days free trial right off the bat, you could have a bad download image of Windows 7 or you have never had a good Windows 7.

Windows 7 installation is relatively quick compared to all previous versions of Windows. Don't worry about drivers, with the internet connected, it will find all the basic drivers your machine needed.

I have never learn how to use Vista and have never use Vista even my machine came with Windows Vista Professional and I got rid of it the first day I had the machine. It was a long way that I found you couldn't install Windows XP over Vista in a Vista notebook. I overcame that problem. When it came to Windows 7, I just didn't recall I ran into any installation problems. Only surprise I found was once upgraded cannot go back without brand new installation.

Good luck!
