My dad gave me an ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ last month... And the net was working just fine then... We installed a device at home for wifi so that we won't be tripping on wires anymore.. so yeah it worked just fine... I can connect to the wifi and can go online.. but just last week... I suddenly can't go online anymore.. wifi or using the wire thing... it said DNS not responding thing... and also the IPv4 and IPv6 said no internet connection...
I'm kinda scared to make changes to it tho.. I have read threads about it and tried a few.. like the netsh reset... and reset catalog... restarted it and Its still crapped up as ever....
I registered here hoping geniuses here would help me out...
So anyone who could help me out please do....

apparently you have a Azurewave AW-NE785H/GE112H Wireless Network Adapter built into the laptop.
And there are updates for its software and drivers here under wireless.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Eee- ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ

...actually as I'm looking at this updates apparently have been released for just about every component on that laptop.
Maybe you should just (skip the bios for now) download what you find on that page in general.

It certainly can't hurt anything.
