Yo!

So i recently bought myself my christmas present a brand new computer complete with windows 7 already installed. Got it home opened it works great. Get a new cable internet says its connected but my internet explorer wont work? It's bad enough i made 3 trips about an hour away trying to find a wireless adaptor for Windows 7 (No luck you really need to get on your **** Microsoft) So anyone have any clue what the hell i can do to fix this? Im highly reconsidering bootcamping my mac book pro and taking my computer back to the store. which i would really hate to do TBH i love windows its been my pal with photoshop for about 4 years now. so anyone care to walk me through what to do to fix this issue?

Thanks-

DM

It has nothing to do with Microsoft. It is so indicative of a user's computing intelligence when they go and blame them for their own errors or problems to begin with.

You have to install a driver for the adapter.

After, check that no proxy is set in I.E.

Im not on a wireless adaptor. I gave up on the search for that and just got a new cable. Which works, but my IE wont open. So obviously there's a flaw in here that im missing. care to point it out.

It's fine. No worries. ;)

Does the icon in the lower right system tray appear without any exclamation point and look good?

If so, then in I.E. - Tools | Internet Options | Connections tab | Lan Settings box

Remove all check marks and hit ok 2 times. Close I.E. and reopen it and try.

Open a command prompt and type the following:

ipconfig /all

Hit enter.

Then post a screenshot of it using the paperclip above where you post.

Type snip in the start menu search box, hit enter, to get a screenshot application that can make a picture of the screen.

nono, we have cable.. weve had this service for like 4 years. i bought the cable to run from our netgear (router) to my computer -head desk- make sense? xD it like randomly disconnected itself.

Edit: i feel like an idiot right now we have like 15 people viewing this thread!

Sounds like you're not get an IP from the modem... Are you using a Router?

EDIT: Sorry I see you have a router. If you open IE and go to the router, usually http://192.168.1.1, do get to the router setup screen?

Stop blaming and cussing Microsoft! I'm not even going to try to help you with that attitude man...take your PC back to the store and let them help you...or go back to MAC, just stop whining!
