Solved Realplayer doesn't completely download shows

A few days ago, I downloaded 104 episodes of Zatch Bell ( I'm a big anime fan ) through this website called Animefreak ( and I checked that it was safe). I downloaded these videos through Realplayer 14 ( free version ) using the automatic downloading utility. So at the end of downloading all of these videos, I randomly played a few of them and for some reason the episodes were cut. Is this an abnormality with the software or is it a bug that the company hasn't fixed or is it something else?

I download with RealPlayer all the time, and this does happen occasionally. (And it drives me crazy!!!)

First, The problem may not be caused by RealPlayer -- it might actually be caused by the uploading site. (e.g. Megavideo cuts videos off at 72 minutes!) Have you tried downloading from a different uploading site?

2nd, are you using RealPlayer's "Download this Video" button? You can also download via RealPlayer by right-clicking on the video's screen and clicking "Download with RealPlayer."

3rd -- You might try downloading the video using one of these alternate methods:

1. Start the video playing, then pause it and let it buffer all the way to the end. Meanwhile, you can even close the window and stay off line. Just before it gets to the end, start the Download This Video button. You should be able to watch it all the way to the end either streaming on line or downloading with Real Player.​

2. Click Play and pause the video as soon as it starts loading. Let it load to 100%. When the video is done buffering, go to the Menu Bar on your browser and click "File" then "Work Offline." Watch the video while you are offline. When you are finished watching the video, unclick the "work offline" button so you are connected to internet again. Now you can start loading the next video(s), and repeat the process as many times as you want.​

3. If you are using Internet Explorer start loading the video and then pause it. When the video is finished loading, open the Temporary Folder of your PC and locate the file. It should have the .flv extension. Open the video in a media player that supports .flv-files. ​

4. This is a little extreme, but you can also restart your modem after watching for a certain number of minutes (for example, with MegaVideo it would be any time prior to 72 minutes). You are assigned with a new IP address and then you can start watching from where the video stopped.​

check your power settings to be sure the machine isn't going to sleep during the download, and check the power props of the network card and disable letting the hardware sleep...

I still have the same problem. I was downloaded a few video from Khan Academy ( which doesn't use Megavideo,and is completely free and safe). I tried all the alternatives ( except for the one regarding Internet Explorer because it takes forever just to get to a website with IE. I use FireFox instead ). Anyother tips or perhaps any other software that can handle the job of web streaming better than Realplayer? Or any updates/ plugins meant to solve this problem (virus- and torrent-free) ?

I would again suggest you check the RealPlayer forum: http://www.downloadfreeplayers.com/forum/
RealPlayer might even have tech support available. And if you find a solution, please be kind enough to post it because I for one would love to know how to fix this.

The best thing I did was this. I removed all the Realplayer registry keys (in H_KEY Software Folder), I completely uninstalled Realplayer, rebooted my computer, reinstalled realplayer, and rebooted my computer again. Never had a problem with any .flv siles after that.

But having done all of that, didn't you lose all of the files you had saved into your former RealPlayer? (I know they would still be in your system in various locations, but didn't you have to re-enter them into RealPlayer, especially if you had 'Playlists' set up).
