So every time I reboot. I have to change my gateway IP in my Network settings.

It is getting so annoying can someone please help me?

everything saves but not my gateway IP.

And my router does have the latest full version on firewall. I didn't want to upload a beta.

My old router worked fine with this but not my new one.

I don't want to use auto-detect Internet connection, even do that works.
I want to type in manually but everything saves but not the gateway.
I got DCHP on.

If I understand you right, your router has DHCP enabled but you're configuring your PC's network settings to always use the same values for your assigned IP address, gateway and DNS servers?
If so, you'd have to do the same thing at the router's end. But I wonder why you don't want to just let DHCP do this by itself. What reason is there for that?

An IP address is an IP address there is nothing simple or complex about it. It's like a street address. Whether you have a street address of 1 or 254 you are still on the same street.

The Auto assigned IP addresses are controlled by your routers DHCP server and can be changed to be in any set of IPs you want to use as long as they are in the same range as the routers IP.

Most likely there is a router/modem and another router involved here as usual.

We need to know what hardware you are running and need to see the ipconfig/all from these machines guys you can't just guess at these types of problems. ;)

Sometimes, it's a simple out-of-sync matter between the "Cable modem" and your router.

Turn off your router, then turn off your "Cable modem" - wait a few minutes

Turn on your "Cable modem" and let it cycle up - it has to uplink to the server and create logical connections
this might take a few minutes, so be patient - all lights steady should indicate uplink is done.

After the "Cable modem" is done it's uplink, not before it is done - power up your router.

Note that depending on which services you subscribe - some TV functions (on-demand) and Phone will be interrupted until the "Cable modem" has completed the uplink.
