Reboot and select proper boot error
I have this problem with my asus u45jc. I had a friend take out my old 320gb hdd and installed a 250gb Samsung pro ssd. I then installed windows 7 and then utility cd and everything was good. I used it for few days and no problem. few days agi I opened my computer and got this message. What am I suppose to do? The only thing I have with me is the asus installation cd and the utility cd. I don't have the old hdd anymore. Also I don't have much on my laptop so I don't mind reinstalling it but someone say this doesn't work? I tried putting asus reinstall cd and then after I type partition whole hard drive it displayed a huge error that was very big that this was whether I chose partition to one drive, both drives or all drives.

Someone in another forum mentioned they fixed this in 5 minutes but can someone explain to a non computer person how to fix this fast? Someone also asked this but no one answered.


Basically this message shows every time I power it on.


Oh yes I just relocated to Canada and my laptop can't even startup.


And can mod erase my thread in the bdso forum.

The only thing I can do is press either f2 or f9 where I see 5 tabs

Someone in another forum said go to boot option.


There is 5 tabs main, advanced,boot, security, save and exit

Uefi Boot. Disabled
OCR Rom. Disabled

Boot option priorities
Boot option #1. P1: HL-DT-ST DVDRA...


Cd/DVD Rom Drive BBS Priorities
Delete boot option


I don't see my ssd drive...


I read online either ssd is broken or my ssd is not locked in correctly. Could it be the second reason? Problem with that is I'm not at home and don't have screwdriver. Basically getting around Montreal with only Internet in my iPod using wifi. Really frustrating this happened the moment I got here. I had a friend help me install the ssd before I left so I wouldn't have a slow hdd.. Now my computer doesn't even boot...

If it`s not showing in the bios, then it very well may have come loose.

Were all the screws put back in when you installed the ssd ?

My friend used screwdriver to open it up to take out old hd and put in the new ssd. He did it and said look how simple it is. He then used screwdriver to cloe that part and then I stalled windows 7 using my asus installation cd and utilities cd and my computer was good for few days before this happened.

What should I do now? I'm in Canada now and not home and don't even have a screwdriver. And I couldn't even open my laptop with it last time so I asked my friend. How much should it cost to have a computer place open my laptop up just to see if my ssd is loose?
