reboot = reprint

Hello out there.
Every time I reboot my W7 machine it prints everything I printed since the last reboot?
Any ideas on how to fix this one?

Hello pdxireland,

Have you tried updating your printer software/drivers? Try looking online for the latest versions.

Sounds like the Print Spooler isn't dumping it's data.

Try turning off the printer, reboot, go into your Printer and see if jobs are there.

or at a command prompt type

net stop "print spooler"
hit enter

then type

net start "print spooler"
hit enter

or open notepad and paste this to it

net stop "[I]print spooler[/I]"
pause

net start "[I]print spooler[/I]"

and save it as SpoolerRestart.cmd to the desktop then double click it.

When it pauses, wait a few moments and hit any key.
Then turn your printer back on and reboot.

Hello again.

I just updated the drivers & ran the .cmd outlined below...
No change, still keeping the last docs in the spool after printing & they reprint on reboot.
Any other ideas?

Delete the printer then Uninstall the printer drivers from Add/Remove?

Or run that SpoolerRestart with the printer turned on?

.cmd w/ printer on had no effect?

By delete do you mean "remove device" via right click....I'm being told access denied....should I just uninstall the from Add/Remove?

Yes,, cause if you are getting access denied to the printer to remove it,, you have something else going on here.

Just an FYI
I created a new Administrator User.
Changed & used that account to remove the printer.
Reinstalled & all is working fine now!
