Reboots after splash screen

I hope this is where i can post this.. sorry if its not. I been using Windows XP but had a play with Windows 7 beta and liked it. so I got myself Windows 7 a few days ago and done a dual install for it. well it installed alright but when it goes to windows splash screen it reboots. I been looking into it and i found a post about the same problem I'm having which would be Nvidia Video Cards needing like a patch but to install it you would need AIK(Automatic Installment Kit).. I tried downloading it but it gives me a page can't be displayed. So is there any other way around this that i can fix this? When i had windows 7 beta i had a different video card.. I hope someone can help me

Thank you. and i have a NVidia GeForce 8500 GT 1gb Video card. i have 3.8 hyperthread P4 intel cpu. and i have no VGA video connection on the board.. I have Abit AA8XE motherboard. and im looking at that page now.

also i would like to add that i did a clean install on a new hard drive i done the install 3 times same out come. I do a format on xp and also in Windows 7 setup. just to make sure to get a good clean install.

I am running IDE cabled hard drives but im using a Maxtor ATA controller to use the hard drives since i have no sata hard drive. but i install the ATA Controller during the install.

Im installing Windows 7 64bit

and nothing is overclocked

What type video connection are you using with the 8500GT, VGA, DVI, HDMI ?

How many IDE connections are on your MB, if no SATA drives ? How many CD, DVD drives do you have connected ? I assume they are IDE.


Link me to the MB page if you can ! How much ram memory during install ?

From mine & many other users over the past year with the beta & the retail installs, there is better luck with a standard VGA video connection & 1 to 2 gb of ram & be connected to the internet during install. Hope this might help.

well i guess ill just dig out the old computer and hook it up and install windows 7 that way and install my video card drivers and then put the hard drive back in this computer. and see what goes on after. Thank you sir for your time and replys.
