hi people so the partition table got somehow corrupted, i had two partitions with windows 7 home x64 installed on each of them, now the first partition i managed to recover with the installation utility but the second i can't boot the system anymore and Windows of the first partition displays now 3 partitions but all are raw and are displayed only under "Disk Management".

What can I do to instruct Windows that there is a second partition after the first one?

i read a lot but found nothing to solve it so any help is very much appreciated :geek:

already tried easeus and testdisk but they see 3 partitions after the first one, when it was actually just one!

Thanks, the fact is that all these programs (AOMEI, TESTDISK, EASEUS) just see 3 partitions (like windows does) after the first one when there used to be only one...

what i need to do is unify these 3 partitions (which popped up right after mbr recovery done with windows installation) and make one like it was before, i need to "tell" windows there is just one partition after the first one...i'm going crazy because i can't solve this...please any help thank guys!!

Run a file recovery to recover any important files.

Then delete the three marked as raw. Then see if any of the partition recovery programs offer the original second partition.

Doubtful as it appears "the first partition i managed to recover with the installation utility" may be the culprit.

Whether you run the AOMEI Partition Assistant, or MiniTool Partition Wizard ( Download only older version 9.1 from here http://www.filehorse.com/download-partition-wizard-home/old-versions/ In later versions Partition Recovery is not free any longer) or TestDisk, if Quick Search does not list your second partition (as lost/deleted) alongwith the existing partitions, you should run a Deep Search/Full Scan. Provided the volume boot record of the second partition has not already been overwritten, a deep scan should find it.

In fact I would suggest that you run TestDisk from a DOS pendrive putting Windows to sleep, for if you continue to use Windows your old volume boot record of the second partition is likely to get overwritten - if it hadn't been already.

dear members i forgot to add the second partition (which now windows sees as three partitions) is encrypted with diskcryptor but i don't think that affects the procedure of rebuilding the partition table.
I think i first need to instruct windows there is just one partition after the first so after that i can use diskcryptor to decrypt it

i think it's easier than it sounds, all those partitioning programs just see 3 partitions like windows does under "Disk Management" so i don't see much use of them
jumanji deep scan done...no other partitions pops up, just the ones already listed under disk management.

What are the three your seeing it can be yours and some old ones do any match yours for size?

it's the old second system partition that now windows lists as 3 partitions...the size of them equals the size of the whole second partition that was there

You will have to contact someone local to you or someone who you can send the hardware to - Hands on access is an essential for this kind of work. And be prepared to pay a lot of money for this kind of service it can easily rise to hundreds or even thousands of dollars

as i wrote there's nobody near me with this knowledge...and i'm quite sure from what i read it's not hard nor expensive at all...just need to modify the partition table and tell windows that after the first partition there's just one as it was before.

To do what you want you would need to hex edit the disk beofre doing anything like that you need to clone the drive and work on the clone so you have a roleback option this gives you an idea of what is needed Active@ UNDELETE. Disk editor tool - YouTube
