Rebuilding hard drive

if i reformat my hard drive and then insert a windows 7 cd into my cd drive' should i be able to reload windows 7?

my pc went wrong, local pc repair place got it working but outlook does not work properly. The how to's that i have tried from the internet have failed to sort the problem and so i'm wondring if reformatting and reinstalling windows 7 and then reloading everything else is the way to go?

what should i be wary of?

If you have a legitimate installation disc, you don't have to reformat the hard drive beforehand.

Just boot from the install disc and then delete all partitions when you come to the screen where you are asked where you want to install Windows.

It's up to you to verify that you in fact have a legitimate installation disc and a valid 25 character Product Key that is necessary for activation within the 30 day limit.

It looks like you have an Outlook problem not a Windows problem.

I have never used Outlook is the reason I'm asking this question.

Does Outlook also have a authentication code? If so is it being used?

To me it also doesn't seem to be a Windows 7 problem.
Then again their might be more than one problem.

Really, why do you use outlook ??

Just use your internet service providers email program if they have one, or yahoo, or gmail etc.

my office 2007 is legit, the pc was new with windows 7 installed. outlook does (did) all I need and i guess safety with what I know.
I was thinking that starting again from scratch with a reformatted hard drive, would be the way to rid the machine of any issues the anti virus and firewall has missed and also any corrupt files. there may not be any so it is just a precaution

the comptor shop said he can run off a copy of windowes 7 and i can use my product key to install it as i dont have my own copy. it was pre installed with no disc provided.

i would not know how to use any other email system

Using an email system is no rocket science. I use AOL since always and never had a problem.
