well until now i thought the bug is from my end because i upgraded about 4 times.
but now i installed a clean installation of windows 7 and the bug is still there.

BUG: when i go to recent items and try to open a photo file
the windows photo viewer opens. it says "loading" forever.
when i right click the file and choose preview=opens fine.
when i open a photo file from any other place in my computer- opens perfectly fine.

this bug concern only photo files, all other files open just fine.

i remind you, this is a 7100 clean install.
anybody else got this issue?

other than that still it doesn't save each folder view. which is a shame. hope it will be fixed in the final release.
im pretty dissapointed with this release, i thought that many bugs that user complained about to MS will be resolved, but no...
i said well maybe their waiting for the RC1 to fix all of this but...no.
so, whats new in this build????
well im still overall satisfied by this OS, its sleek and fast :D

Strange, I have never had that bug before? See specs for build.
Updating to Win 7 RC build when released through MSDN. :)

Nice catch...

All I can do at this point is confirm that the 'bug' does exist. I also made a clean fresh install so it must be in the version. :(

Windows Photo Viewer bug

I run 8GB of 1600MHz Patriot memory and this bug has been in each build from 7057 that I have noticed. I did a clean install of 7100 yesterday and the bug is still there. I can't believe this was overlooked, it must be a memory space allocation issue they cannot seem to fix.

Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds.

you know it's not the most critical bug ever, but it represents an unfinished job (well yeah it's RC1 i know)
but if such a noticeable bug is not fixed in the RC then imagine other bugs which are not so obvious to the common user.
it really made me a bit disappointed about the RC release.

One point of interest here is that the bug looks like it is in the photo viewer end rather than the OS end - I as standard load Picassa as a quick file viewer each install.

Would be interesting to know if this bug persists when the live photo app is installed as I believe this takes over from the built in viewer when installed.

I know this is an old thread. Sorry for bumping it. But I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and I see that I'm not alone. One crappy workaround I found was to right click on the picture you'd like to open and click "Preview" (it's at the top). That works. I'll be looking forward to the final release!

Hey BR

No problem with the old thread. What we could use is a description of your problem and your system specs,Os (32 or 64) clean or upgrade, and what eactly is happening
