You are running a HP Product ID (PID) on an EVGA board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.

I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.

I dont like that im forced to buy a copy of windows. I like windows 7 and all but i pulled that hard drive from my hp 8300 sff. i believe that since i own that hardware...whats on the hardware should be mine too. but its not so i have to buy a new win 7 version for this computer so that its not ''counterfeit'' any way i need to know... I use it for gaming mostly, i like win 7 pro. can i buy one of those 50 dollar genuine win with activation and download it over the internet or do i have to buy the cd version of it... or does it matter?

That only makes it counterfeit, you cannot move a OEM SLP to a different system.

I would recommend to get it from a legitimate source, installation media is easier to get than a legit key but just do not use torrents or other of such things to get installation media from, it'll only get you in problems.

Thanks. I was looking into legit. I want a legit system. It didn't even occur to me that using the hp hdd was considered counterfeit. that kinda sucks though. but i want a legit system. my system usually turns off when i press the power button to turn it on. and then it works. it worries me but i hope that it is the hp hard drive. do you think that's a possibility?

An OEM SLP is used for preinstallations like with laptops, the activation is flashed in the BIOS and as such it cannot be moved.
SLP is short for System Locked Preinstallation, if it was NSLP (Non System Locked Preinstallation), it wouldn't be such an issue if the transfer was done properly.

Unfortunately I cannot provide anymore support, although I would love to, it is against the forum rules to provide support in any way for piracy. You would need to provide an activation report, after a genuine installation, so we see you have a genuine activation, until then no support can be given.

How to provide a report  Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instruction

If I may I have a thought.

from post #3

As far as I know their is no $50.00 legal Windows 7.
A legal Windows 7 Pro will cost around $140.00

I see you live in New York. Their has to be a local store you can buy a Microsoft packaged DVD and matching COA key for Windows 7 Pro. I have never had a problem with any Microsoft packaged DVD and key.
If by chance you do, you can go back to the store you bought it.

A few week ago I checked with my local store and found out their was no problem getting Windows 7 Pro from the several warehouses he uses across the country.
