I believe evga is a little mad at me for never accepting delivery on the titan hybrid had to get my cc company to straighten out the refund evga stalled it for over a month so I had no choice

Ok Steve well I am up for a Skylake build in the near future I might just take a look at the EVGA stuff then.

Plus I am inclined to agree with you about support too pretty poor for anything much really though I have never had to contact them much.

John, I'm not trying to talk you into anything really. Just giving my opinion. I think you should get whatever you want, I know I always do. But, I haven't built a Skylake rig, although I have threatened to. Everyone I know have been happy with Skylake though. I really think you should get whatever you want. Buy what you are confident with.

And yes, Tech Support is almost nonexistent in this industry, with just a few exceptions.

No Steve I know you better than to think that mate and just as a matter of interest I scouted round for the EVGA cards and founds very few available and jeez at some ridiculous prices too!!

My new build thread I have going Thinking of a Skylake desktop buld am sticking to the i7 K and ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming Motherboard for starters and my main concern now is the case and the PSU both of which I find are really WELL priced to what they were

Can't really see a reason why you'd get a Skylake build if the performance gains only offers like ~10% from Sandy Bridge. You should wait for Kaby Lake.

Mmm but what is the advantage of the Kaby lake?? because the way things go it will be overtaken by some new form before it hits the stores and well price is a concern.

I can remember building the Ivy Bridge and then in a no time at all it was gone and spares well you can forget them

That's true John and why I always cringe when I hear "Future Proof". There's no such thing. I disagree with RoasterMen's comment too. There were a lot of improved CPUs between Sandy Bridge and Skylake. Ivy Bridge, as I recall, was supposed to be a 10% improvement over Sandy Bridge, and it was. I own both. Besides, some of the best reasons to upgrade are often the chipset feature improvements. What they will be on Kaby Lake, I don't know. But, what I do know is, that if you buy the latest and greatest CPU/Chipset now, usually within 6 months there will be something bigger, better and faster out. There's no such thing as 'Future Proof'.

Yea personally I do not see kabylake as a option seeing it is going to be win-10 only for sure
At least skylake there is a workaround to get 7 on it

Only good thing that may happen with new releases is price dropping for previous versions

We don't see much often Evga products brand around my country or very poorly represented. I know they're good products...

But since October 2016 looks they have some small issues on their Graphics GTX line of cards: Source
