Recording issues with recorders (fraps hypercam etc) sound issues

hey guys thanks again for solving my static problem but i think i may have run into another, my voice on the recording sounds... i dunno different a bit? like it doesnt sound as clear. was this because i lowered the hertz to enable noise suppression?

Muffled? I'd probably say that's the noise suppression, what type of headset do you use? Make and model would be good

Yes its muffed, im using a platronics 367 closed ear gaming headset if you can recommend a better one im all hears xD

Any USB headset, I personally use a Logitech G35, but it isn't cheap, even though it's 3 years old now, it's clear as a bell when recording and even does a good job of noise suppression without windows programs, I'll post a short snippet of my voice with tv noise in the background as an example.

wow thats damn clear and you can hear the tv in the background...
ok on another note i found the usb adapters i have for platronics headsets, it seems to do a good job but the sound is massively reduced despite the adjusted and its when adjusting doesnt seem to change very much, my friend is also recording stuff using a different usb headset. im gonna see if i can borrow it and check if it could be my computer or just not a good headset for recording
i might later add some recordings using the USB adapter, without it and the noise suppression

Hey guys i know its been forever since ive posted here, my recordings used to go along great with this usb adapter i have for my plantronics but lately the static has come back again.

Im currently using a plantronics 380 headset with this dolby digital usb adapter
you can see the little adapter in the picture here just above the jacks.

My windows volume is set to 50% while in the control panel, my mic is set to 80% volume while having AGC turned on

Hi Major Foley, welcome back again

Seems to be somewhat of a problem child this issue of yours, I'm assuming everything is as it what 2 years ago?

I'm sort of thinking it maybe a simple solution this time, dust in the jacks or something similar, have you tried a different USB port for the connector?

Sorry for the Extremely late response i have tried using audacity to remove the noise and to an extent it does work. The static disappears but my voice kinda sounds... Well to me sounds a little distorted when i use the plantronics 387 with the 5.1 USB dolby sound card (surround sound off)
