Hello ALL,

I know it's a dumb and a sad situation, I've deleted a drive and quick formatted...now I want to get some data back...it is presently in an unlocated state, I've not touched it nor rewritten over it, all I've done for now is tried 3 programs:

ParetoLogic data recovery
GetData RecoverMyfiles
EaseUs Data recovery

All give same results, files are all there, correct files sizes...but files come out corrupt, no use.

Before I give up, is there something I can do to restore, something like correct table to HD, or maybe allocate the drive and scan again ?

Any hints would be greatly appreciated :)
Cheers from Canada

You don't seem clear on what you did. If you have quick formatted, how is it unallocated?

Another free one you could try is Recuva. In the options select "Deep Scan" and "restore folder struture"

https://www.piriform.com/recuva/download

If Recuva is not successful, then it depends how much it is worth to you.

There are several programs which will scan, find the files and allow you to recover a small amount.

If they work well for that, then you can pay for a license and complete the job.

You could try that with MT power data recovery ( recovers 1gb at a time free ), and partition guru (recovers small up to 60kb for free ), and ZAR ( recovers all photos for free )

Free File Recovery Software - Power Data Recovery is an all-in-one free data recovery software that could help you to recover your lost data from hard disk, CD, DVD disk, memory stick, memory card, and flash drive.

Thank you SIW2 for all suggestions that I will indeed explore.

I'm starting with Recuva, but it cannot see my unallocated drive ? does this mean Recuva is not helpfull ?
thanks again

Recuva works for logical data recovery which seems to be your problem. It should work. If you don't want to experiment by buying all these programs and risking them not working after spending your money you can always call www.datarecoveryguy.com. It will run you about 100-200 which is similar to what most programs cost but you will be sure you get it back.
