In a (successful) attempt to correct WGA registration problem I did a Windows Repair.

I used Windows Backup and saved it to my external hard drive. Now I have almost identical files and folders there and on the now visible Recovery drive. TBUH, when making the backup several options appeared and I checked one without being 110% sure it was right.

Did possibly I do something not right? What need I do to correct anything wrong, including which folders and files I may safely delete? What advice do I need for future?

Please!

The recovery drive is a special partition on your computer that you cannot be accessed through Windows Explorer. It can only be accessed by booting into it. On a Dell, you reboot the computer and when the Dell logo appears, press Ctrl-F11. I do not own a Dell, but with a little bit of research, I was able to find out for you. Hope this helps!

I don't think there's anything wrong with being able to see the partition, are you able to access it? It's alright if you can't.

My Asus laptop also has that type of partition, and although it was invisible in Vista, it's visible in Win 7, and I still was able to revert back to Vista last month using that partition.

It simply means windows assigned a letter to it... If you want, just open a command prompt and run Diskpart... then use the "remove" command to remove the drive letter, then you will not see it in explorer until you "assign" it a letter again....
