i recently brought a new HP laptop model number touch smart TX2 - 1370 US

and it came with windows 7 OS 64 bit and 4 gb ram and AMD processor and ATI radon HD 3200 graphic card .. and 320 GB hard disc ..

notron anti virus is installed in it for 59 days trail and i updated all my system drivers and antivirus definations

but i found a $recycle.bin and system volume information folder in C root drive and it is not detected by any antivirus

so thinking that it is harmful i formated my recovery partition ...

can anyone tell me how can i get that recovey partition back ..

can i use my recovery discs to get that ?

os should i use any softwares ?

there are no system restore points in my hard disk ,,,

i also have a windows repair disc with me which i created ...

Your best bet is to use your computer manual to get the answer. I own a Dell computer and with Dell there is a recovery partition, which will restore my computer to the way it was when purchased (D drive). There is also a recovery disc, which will restore my computer to the way it arrived from the factory. It sounds like HP has a similar setup. If so, you can merely use the restoration Disc, to return your factory settings. Any programs or changes made, of course, will be lost. If I am mikstaken about the recovery partition, for a very small charge, you can purchase a recovery disc from HP. These restortation DVD should be supplied with any new computer, but some companies are more interested in making a buck than doing the right thing. In any event, start with your manual, then call the Manufacturer.

LOL. well recycle bin and system volume information show because you have show hidden files and folders and/or show protected operative system files enabled :)

They are part of the Windows OS and have to be there hihi.

2nd, formatting your recovery partition due to seeing them is just L O L ... NOOB.com sorry to say... well funny to read though.

But cheer up kiddo, do a full factory recovery from the disks and they SHOULD put back the factory recovery partition! :)

If not, come back in a months time when I release suck hopefully and for abt 15 dollars, you can use suck on one machine to set up your own home OEM recovery partition.

there would be this week but in a months time or so I plane to release a program which will do it for you mate.. and it is far better than an OEM recovery partition, as its exactly like it bar you decide yourself HOW you want your base recovery windows to look like instead of OEM's decision on which programs are installed etc.

Like Richard said, if you made the recovery Disk(s) then you should be OK.. because the recovery disk (should) bring EVERYTHING back.including the recovery partition the (D) drive.

Hope this Helps..and Happy Holidays:)

Easiest is to ask HP for an installation disk which they usually provide for a S&H fee ($20 last time I looked). That restores the system and the recovery partition.

To test those recovery disks you made: Put the first disk in the drive and run it. If that fails, restart the computer and attempt to boot from disk.

Suggest you uninstall the Norton bloatware and install a lean free AV like Avast Home. In fact, there is a load of bloatware which comes with the P.C. that you can uninstall in Programs and Features.

After you do this, run sfc /scannow to see if removal of the bloatware caused any system file damage.

Most tech enthusiasts don't even bother with removing the bloatware, but wipe the whole HD and use a clean copy of Win7 DVD to format and reinstall, which activates with the OEM license on the mobo. THe installer is nearly driver complete, but any missing drivers can be found (along with HP apps you like) on the Support Downloads page for that model. Adobe Reader/Flash and Java Runtime/Free Ofc. are on their websites. Google anything else that's missing.

There really isn't any reason you'll need full factory recovery unless HP decides to insist on it to service the hardware warranty, but then they can provide recov disks for a nominal fee if yours won't work.

Meanwhile, if you would like to recover the space which that recov partition occupied into another partition, post back here a screenshot of your Disk Management map so we can advise you better. Use the Snipping Tool on Start Menu, attaching file with paper clip in reply box.

Yes, - recovery disks have everything needed to return the computer to factory condition.

Since you made the disks, just put them away where they will be safe (after testing them) and you'll probably never need them unless you want to restore to factory condition to resell it.

A much better way to protect yourself now is to make a Win7 Backup Image of your hard drive which can be used to reimage your HD (or a replacement) exactly as it is now, using the Win7 repair disk. You can even store that in place of the recovery partition, just format it primary first. I would also store a copy externally.
