Hi.

I use the subst command to map my d:\downloads to A:

In windows XP recycle bin moved any deleted files from A: to the bin, but in windows 7 it doesn't. I can drag the files from the a:\ to the destop or another drive, then delete them from there to be stored in RB (just in case i need to restore them) but anything deleted from the A: is just deleted.

any ideas how to make the RB recognise a mapped (virtual) drive?

thanks in advance.

thats the problem ... A: doesnt show up on my drive list, just C: D: and E: which is my hard disk in 3 partitions. I am using the Subst command in the startup menu ... maybe i should use a 3rd party program to map my drives before windows loads?

just an update: i tried a 3rd party program to create the mapped drive, but the mapped drive still refuses to appear in my RB. I even tried using the subst command from the registry under my startup programs, but still no joy.

My mapped drive is D:\downloads as A: when i delete any files from A: they disappear, but when i delete them from d:\downloads they goto the RB.

anybody?

Did you ever find a solution? I'm also hoping to be able to delete items from a SUBST'ed drive to the Recycle Bin.

FYI, I discovered that this new behaviour started with Vista (SP?).
